Why Offer the PSAT 10?
What Is the PSAT 10?
The PSAT 10 is an assessment designed for 10th graders and is offered with flexible testing windows in the spring.
New Digital Format
Beginning in spring of 2024, the PSAT 10 is going digital. The test will be shorter, have more time per question, and come with a built-in calculator which can be used on the entire math section. The change is good news for educators, too. A shorter test means a shorter test day, and no more packing, sorting, or shipping test materials. Going digital also means more flexibility for where and when the test can be administered.
Help Students Pay for College
Students have access to scholarship and recognition programs that may provide funding to help them pay for college.
Official SAT Practice
Students can get a free, personalized study plan with Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy®. When they link their College Board and Khan Academy accounts, students will get a practice plan based on their PSAT 10 results so they can focus on the skills they need to work on most.

AP Opportunities
Students who succeed in AP courses are more likely to succeed in college, and they can save money through credit-granting and placement policies. The AP Potential tool uses SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 scores to help you identify students likely to succeed in AP. In addition, student score reports recommend AP courses that might be good matches.
