Practice with Accommodations
If you have a College Board–approved accommodation, it will be applied to your digital tests. This includes most assistive technology that you use when you're online, which will work in Bluebook too.
When you take a digital test in Bluebook™, you'll see a personal information screen that lists your name and any accommodations you're approved for. However, some assistive technology may require special configuration. Get more information about using assistive technology in Bluebook.
It's important to practice using your assistive technology with the digital test prior to taking it. If you use assistive technologies (AT), such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ChromeVox, ZoomText Fusion, etc.), to interact with a standard web browser, the same commands can be used to navigate through content in the digital test. The exception to this would be if you use a web-based assistive technology or a browser extension.
If you use assistive technology, open or start the AT device or software before you open Bluebook for practice.
If you are approved for a paper braille test, contact Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) for a practice test.
If you have an approved accommodation to take the test on paper, you can download and print the practice tests to practice and prepare. Paper practice tests are recommended only for students who will test with paper-based accommodations on test day.
Tips for Taking a Paper Practice Test
- You'll need a printer, pencil, calculator, and timer to take the tests.
- Record your answers by circling your choices (or for student-produced math questions, by writing in your answer.)
- It's OK to guess. You won't lose any points if you're wrong.
- When you're ready to score your test, download the scoring guide and answer explanations for your practice test and check your answers.
