Accommodations and Supports

Students eligible to receive accommodations on the Connecticut SAT School Day are those students who have an active IEP or Section 504 plan in CT-SEDS. These formal plans define what services are provided to students with disabilities (or medical needs), including how they may best access statewide assessments like the Connecticut SAT School Day. SSD coordinators can request accommodations or accommodation changes through SSD Online, as aligned to those accommodations determined by the student's finalized and implemented plan in CT-SEDS.

Students identified as English Learners/Multilingual Learners, who may or may not have an IEP or Section 504 plan, may also qualify for specific supports. These students have access to College Board's English learner (EL) supports, including Up to Time and One-Half, EL—Text-to-Speech for Math Sections (Embedded), translated test directions, and the ability to use College Board–approved bilingual word-to-word dictionaries. Learn more about EL supports for students.

Accommodations from CT-SEDS do not sync with College Board's SSD Online system. All requests for accommodations and certain EL/ML supports are processed through the SSD Online system by the SSD Coordinator.

SSD Online Access

SSD coordinators use SSD Online to request and receive approval for accommodations and supports on the SAT Suite of Assessments. To access SSD Online, the school must designate an SSD coordinator who will be responsible for testing accommodations for College Board exams. To access the system, SSD coordinators must:

  • Have an updated College Board professional account.
  • Complete the SSD Coordinator Form.
    • Complete one request per school.
    • Designate one person as the primary SSD coordinator if there are multiple coordinators. A school may have more than one SSD coordinator, but each must have a College Board professional account and complete the SSD Coordinator Form.
  • Allow 3–5 business days for processing.
