Idaho State-Contracted Testing (Spring SAT School Day)

Topics

Overview

  • Testing Window: March 1–April 30, 2027
  • Assessment: SAT
  • Eligible Students:
    • Idaho public school students in 11th grade as well as 12th-grade students who had not previously tested in the state.
    • Homeschooled Students: Homeschooled students who also take classes at a public school (dual registrants) must be given the opportunity to participate in that school's SAT School Day administration using the school's College Board AI/CEEB code. Students who are exclusively homeschooled may also participate in a public school's SAT School Day administration, subject to the school's discretion and seat availability. These students should be registered using AI code 970000. Schools that need assistance providing a state student testing ID should contact the Idaho Department of Education (IDSDE). IDSDE will cover the testing costs for homeschooled students participating under either scenario. Otherwise, homeschooled students must take an SAT Weekend test at their own expense, although Idaho Advanced Opportunities Funds may be used.
    • Schools are required to offer students the opportunity to take the SAT for those who are interested.

School Onboarding

  • Every September, IDSDE provides College Board with a list of schools eligible to administer testing along with their principal's and district test coordinator’s name and contact information ("state eligible schools list").
  • College Board provides each principal and corporation test coordinator on the state eligible schools list access through their College Board professional account dashboard to the SAT Suite Ordering and Registration (SSOR) system, as well as the ability to manage SSOR access for other school personnel, as desired.
  • By the second Tuesday in October, each school enters their spring testing details in SSOR (e.g., coordinator-level staff names and contact information, whether off-site testing will be used, estimated number of test takers, estimated testing dates within the window, etc.).
  • For detailed instructions, please refer to the District and School Guidance for Organization Establishment in SSOR document.

Test Administration Team Roles

  • School Test Coordinator: Expected to be at the school to supervise all activities related to test administration. Responsible for staff recruitment, training, and assignments; overseeing the use of facilities; supervising all test administration activities; and handling any emergencies or disruptions. The test coordinator and SSD coordinator are also the two roles responsible for reviewing accommodations and ensuring students testing with accommodations and supports have a smooth administration.
  • SSD Coordinator: Responsible for supporting students testing with accommodations. This includes requesting accommodations and supports, validating student accommodations data, helping the test coordinator seat students in appropriate groups, and working with proctors and technology coordinators to ensure students can test successfully with their accommodations.
  • Technology Coordinator: Can be a district- or school-level staff member but must have the expertise and permissions to install Bluebook on managed devices and configure the network (or manage staff who do). The IT professionals at your school can explore the list of relevant responsibilities at bluebook.org/tech.
  • Technology Monitor: Help students and staff with technical issues on test day in a designated help room.
  • Proctors: Responsible for conducting a secure, valid administration. They're accountable for everyone in their testing room and everything that takes place there.
  • Hall/Room Monitors: Assist with test administration duties. Monitors don't administer the test, but they have access to Test Day Toolkit to help direct students to their assigned rooms, answer questions, monitor testing areas, and submit irregularities if needed.
