Benefits of the New Pricing Model
What's In It for Students and Schools?
- Expanded low-income support across all assessments and grade levels, increasing access for more students.
- Greater cost savings through multi-assessment discounts, with larger reductions as more assessments are administered.
- Automatic discount application in College Board's ordering system, providing clear, simplified cost estimates before purchase.
New Price Adjustments
College Board is introducing new discounts for schools and districts that serve low-income students and those that administer assessments in both the fall and the spring.
Low-Income Pricing Adjustments
College Board supports schools and districts serving low-income students by providing a discount based on the federally estimated poverty rate percentage (PR%) up to a maximum of 45%. This discount applies to all students and all assessments, eliminating the need to identify individual students for fee waivers or reductions after testing. For the 2026-27 school year, PR% will be based on 2024 U.S. Census data.
Multiple Assessment Pricing Adjustments
Districts and schools that administer multiple assessments receive the following discounts when testing similar volumes. Multi-assessment discounts will be based on testing a minimum number of students relative to the volume tested in other assessments within the same school year. Fall and spring testing of the same test counts as separate assessments. Schools and districts administering state-paid assessments receive the multi-assessment credit.
- 2 assessments—15% discount
- 3 assessments—20% discount
- 4 or more assessments—25% discount
Late Fees
Beginning fall 2026, College Board is implementing an on-time ordering deadline for the SAT Suite. Orders must be placed by the day before the testing window begins. Orders placed on or after the first day of the testing window will incur a 10% late fee. Late fees are based on how many tests are taken, not how many are ordered. Final costs will adjust to reflect actual test usage, even if initial estimates in the SAT Suite Ordering system (SSOR) include late fees. No late fees are applied when modifying an existing order after the deadline.
- Fall Late Fee Deadline—September 30
- Spring Late Fee Deadline—February 28
