FAQ

How does Connections work without the colleges or programs receiving student personally identifiable information?

  • Nonprofit colleges and programs tell College Board who they are looking for and College Board matches those requests with students who have opted-in to Connections, based on information the student and their school provided during testing and their test scores.
  • In the BigFuture School app, as well as through email and mail (if the student provides email and/or mailing address), the student will see messages sent on behalf of these organizations, who at no point will know the student’s identity. If a student is interested in one of the colleges or programs, the student decides if and when to contact them.
  • Students may control specific communication preferences in Connections and may opt-out of Connections at any time. Your student can further personalize their Connections experiences in the app.
