EPS Executive Summary Reports

We're transitioning all student score information to the online Higher Education Reporting Portal and will no longer mail paper score reports to higher education institutions starting August 2022.

Executive Summary Reports summarize the data of unique SAT test takers who requested an official test score be sent to a designated institution. Each student is counted once using their most recent score information. If you subscribe to Enrollment Planning Service, 10 Executive Summary Reports are available in the Executive Summary tab of the reporting portal. To access these reports, you must be assigned a summary or detailed reporting role by your institution's reporting portal access manager as well as a role to access EPS.

Executive Summary Reports are updated on a weekly basis. Each report includes data for the following categories:

  • Race/Ethnicity
  • Mobility
  • Low Socioeconomic Status (SES)
  • First Generation
  • Mean Scores

How Categories Are Measured

  • Race/Ethnicity: Reported in aggregate. Students who select more than one race/ethnicity are counted in only one category.
  • Mobility: Students sending 50% or more of their scores to institutions outside their home state (defined by the student's home address) fall in the "Out-of-State Mobility" category. If they send more than 50% of their scores to institutions within their home state, they fall within the "In-State Mobility" category.
  • Low SES: Students identified through census and other data as likely coming from families with annual incomes below $40,000.
  • First Generation: Based on student responses when taking the SAT, students fall in one of four categories:
    1. No College: Those whose parents have no college experience
    2. Some College: Those whose parents have some college experience
    3. Not First Generation: Those whose parents have a bachelor's degree or higher
    4. No Response: Students who did not respond to the question
  • Mean Scores: Mean scores are calculated for any category that has at least 10 reported scores.
