FAQ
What is an add-on file?
After your initial file is uploaded for an assessment, you'll see the option to upload an add-on file. You may submit as many add-on files as needed throughout the registration window.
You can use this feature to add additional students to your schools' rosters. For example:
- Use this feature if you forgot to upload for an entire school.
- Use this feature if you forgot to upload an entire grade or cohort of students.
- Use this feature if you have additional students who transferred into your district.
Schools may also add missing students manually, but it's likely easier for the district to upload an add-on file if there are large numbers of students missing from your initial student data file.
When you submit an add-on file, existing students in school rosters are not affected; student data will neither be edited nor deleted. Add-on files are just for adding additional students.
To submit an add-on file, follow these steps:
- Log in to SSOR and click the Register Students button.
- Find the assessment on the registration dashboard where you'd like to add students. Click Upload Add-on File to begin the file upload process.
- Select the correct .csv file from your computer and complete the submission process. The validation steps for submitting an add-on file are the same as those used when uploading an initial student data file.
After your add-on file has been fully submitted, you'll see the option to Review Files on the assessment where you submitted the add-on file. Click this link to see the following information:
- Total number of students successfully submitted. This is a sum of all students who have been successfully submitted from your initial file upload and any subsequent add-on files you may submit.
- Total number of duplicate students. When submitting an add-on file, SSOR will check each student in your add-on data upload to ensure you haven't mistakenly included a student who was submitted in a previous upload or manually added by the school in SSOR. When we identify that a student is a duplicate to one already existing in a school's roster, we skip that student so a duplicate isn't re-added.
- A list of all the files submitted for the assessment by your district. Click on the file names to download a copy of the data you submitted.
- A count for each file of the students successfully submitted and duplicates identified.
If your district has submitted several files, you may need to scroll down to see all the data.
Please note that your schools won't receive a notification that additional students have been added to their rosters. You'll need to communicate this information directly to them so they can validate the students' data and register the newly added students.
