Why is some question data reported as an “X” in my data file?

Data files for fall 2023 SAT School Day and SAT weekend (for U.S.-based testers) include the answers your students selected for each question.

Question data is reported as "X" if:

• The question was determined invalid and was not scored.
• The student provided two or more answers.

Student-produced responses to math questions are reported as "X" when the student bubbles multiple circles for a single digit in multigrid responses.
