Preparing Students for Test Day

Before testing begins, it's important to make sure your students feel prepared for what to expect.

Practice: Students can access free, official practice resources, including full-length Bluebook practice tests, study activities, and tips to build confidence on test day, on our practice hub. For ideas on how you can support your students as they practice, visit Practice Resources for Educators.

Important: While taking practice tests in Bluebook, every student is welcome to toggle on certain built-in accommodations (text-to-speech, screen readers, etc.). However, practicing with accommodations does NOT mean a student is approved to take an actual assessment with those accommodations. If your students need to test with accommodations, please ask your school’s SSD coordinator to submit a request at least 7 weeks before test day. Student Readiness Check: Schools administering the SAT Suite of Assessments will complete a student readiness check prior to testing. In these sessions, students will get familiar with the Bluebook testing application, confirm their personal information is correct, and verify that devices are ready for test day.
