Administering the PSAT 8/9

On test day, PSAT 8/9 coordinators follow a defined schedule, equip testing rooms, and admit students to the testing area.

Details are provided in the PSAT 8/9 Coordinator Manual.

Review educator resources.

  1. Before students arrive, complete preparation.

Ensure that all staff, including proctors and monitors, have everything they need for their roles. Provide them with all required materials.

  2. Admit students.

Students can check in at a central location or in each testing room.

  3. During the test, maintain security standards.

Walk through each test room. Ensure that seating arrangements and walls adhere to the security standards described in the coordinator manual. Also, be prepared to proctor or monitor an exam in case the designated staff members are unable to do so.
