Professionals and Educators Digital SAT FAQ: Accommodations
FAQ
Do students still need to apply for accommodations if they've been approved before?
No. If College Board approved a student to take the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, PSAT 8/9, or AP Exams with accommodations, they don't need to apply again.
Which accommodations are built into/delivered through the digital exam application?
Students who are approved for the following accommodations will receive digital exam formats that deliver their accommodation:
- Breaks (extra, extended, as needed)
- Extended time
- Screen reader and assistive technology
Many students who need accommodations for paper testing can use digital testing features instead. For example, students approved for large print or magnification can use keyboard controls to zoom in/zoom out. Those who use a color overlay can use color contrast.
See Using Accommodations for more information.
How does the digital exam application support break accommodations?
Students approved for extra or extended breaks will have a test configured to include the appropriate number and length of breaks. Students approved for breaks as needed will be able to pause the timer to take their break.
