Cohort Performance and Growth

The K–12 score reporting portal provides two aggregate reports specific to cohort performance.

Annual Cohort Reports

Cohort reports for the current graduating class are uploaded as a PDF report to the K–12 portal each summer. This report presents aggregate data on students in the current graduating class who took the SAT during high school. This includes overall and demographic scores and performance, score distributions, interquartile ranges, and score send patterns.

Growth Report

The growth report helps educators track and interpret how the same group of students perform over time on the Reading and Writing and Math sections of SAT Suite tests. This report reflects score changes over time, allowing educators to evaluate both instructional impact and student development.

The growth report is available as a scheduled PDF report and includes:

  • Long-term growth tables that track the progress of a matched student cohort over multiple years, as they move through different assessments in the SAT Suite (e.g., PSAT 8/9 to PSAT 10 to SAT).
  • Paired-test growth tables that measure score changes for a matched cohort between two specific assessments, such as the PSAT 10 and SAT.
  • A matched cohort that compares students who took all assessments.

The report also includes projected performance on future assessments based on patterns observed in similar schools. Projected growth is based on the growth of schools that took the same tests your students took and had mean scores on the first test that were similar to your students' mean score.
